Job Description

  • Work with multiple teams and stakeholders to plan, implement, test, and deploy new features and enhancements for the enterprise ecommerce website
  • Proactively identify and fix issues/bugs
  • Work closely with the application developer, database administrator, and systems engineer to maintain and enhance integration between the web site and existing business systems (erp, salesforce, bi tools)
  • Work with outside vendors as necessary to deploy upgrades, troubleshoot problems, and optimize website performance
  • Create and maintain useful documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Work with the IT director to develop a process framework for gathering requirements, prioritizing items, providing estimates and communicating changes
  • Meeting with the design team to discuss the needs of the company
  • Building and configuring magento 1x and 2x ecommerce websites
  • Coding of the magento templates
  • Developing magento modules in php using best practices
  • Designing themes and interfaces
  • Setting performance tasks and goals
  • Troubleshooting integration issues
  • Updating website features and security patches


  • Strong theoretical background in software engineering and object-oriented programming
  • Strong understanding of database management and database design
  • At least 3 years of professional experience doing lamp stack development, including server setup and configuration
  • At least 2 years of provable magento experience, and at least 1 year of experience specifically on magento 2
  • Experience with magento 1 to 2 migration and venia pwa storefront would be highly preferred
  • Proven ability to create php shell scripts to manage bulk data processing
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: angular, react, or vue. JS
  • Skilled in CSS, jquery, and HTML
  • Experience using and helping to manage code repositories using git or subversion
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field of study, or some other similar level of educational background, is preferred
  • Magento certifications (especially associate or professional backend certifications in magento 2) are nice to have
  • We suggest submitting a small portfolio, git/bitbucket repo or at least a code sample as proof of experience
